Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association has formally established a Political Action Committee (PAC)

With the Legislature now considering allowing slot machines at Thoroughbred tracks in the state, it is absolutely necessary that PHBA involve itself in the political process and help to define a healthy, sustained future for Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Pennsylvania.

Affecting legislative change is a complicated, timely, and involved process. And, it costs money. Statistical studies, lobbying efforts, and campaign contributions are just some of the considerable expenses to be incurred in helping those in the decision-making process to fully understand the pari-mutuel industry. Simply stated, money talks.

In the past, PHBA has counted mostly on a few, generous individuals each time a legislative initiative was undertaken, and their response was greatly appreciated. This time, with such a significant issue at hand, the financial needs of the Association are much greater, and therein the reason for the establishment of our PAC.
