If Thoroughbreds are part of your life, the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association is the organization for you.

The Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association is devoted to those involved in Pennsylvania's Thoroughbred breeding industry. A not-for-profit organization, founded in 1948, the PHBA provides a number of services to its members, including informational assistance, educational opportunities, and a variety of social events.

The goal of the organization is to be an advocate for Pennsylvania's breeding industry. This is an important priority for all Pennsylvania residents because the Thoroughbred industry plays a significant role in the economy. It generates tremendous tax revenues and makes substantial contributions to the state's agricultural community.

The Thoroughbred industry also helps to sustain Pennsylvania's unique rural character.

The complimentary blend of its breeding and racing segments provides an attractive environment across the landscape of our state.

Working with other industry leaders over the years, the PHBA has achieved several goals that have had far-reaching benefits. One such attainment was the establishment of the Pennsylvania Breeding Fund in 1974. The Fund, which is administered by the PHBA, has evolved into one of the country's most progressive and lucrative breeding incentive programs.

Other industry efforts in recent years have resulted in the enactment of legislative measures, which have brought reforms and benefits to breeders, owners, race tracks and the public. The PHBA has been a leader in many of these efforts, and the Association continues to provide representation and advocacy in the state capital and at industry gatherings.

The PHBA is vital to everyone involved in breeding throughout Pennsylvania. Your support and participation can help the organization realize its full potential.
