TWO YEAR OLD COLT OR GELDING FANTASTIC VIEW 2001, by Distant View—Promptly (Ire), by Lead On Time. With three wins (two stakes) and two seconds in five starts in England, he was beaten less than two lengths in the $252,500 Racing Post Trophy-G1 at Doncaster in his seasonal finale. The colt was bred by George Strawbridge Jr. TWO YEAR OLD FILLY LOVELY AFTERNOON 2001, by Afternoon Deelites—Lovely Later, by Green Dancer. After a third-place finish in the Top Flight Stakes and a fourth in the Arlington-Washington Lassie, she came East and dominated the field in the Blue Mountain Juvenile Fillies. A $52,000 yearling, she was bred by Two Sisters Farm (Deborah Rush). THREE YEAR OLD COLT OR GELDING YO 2000, by Valid Wager—Talcum Dee, by Talc. He won two of five seasonal starts, including the Peppy Addy and Lil E Tee Stakes, and was second in the Yankee Affair on the turf, all at Philadelphia Park. Bred by E & D Enterprises (Dr. Donald Dreyfuss), he repeats as a divisional winner. THREE YEAR OLD FILLY RUSSIAN RHYTHM 2000, by Kingmambo—Balistroika, by Nijinsky II. Named Europe’s champion 3-year-old filly, she won three of five starts: the 1000 Guineas, Coronation and Nassau Stakes (all Group 1). The leading PA-bred money-earner of 2003, with earnings of $880,027. She was bred by Brushwood Stable (Elizabeth Moran). OLDER HORSE DOCENT 1998, by Waquoit—Dormir, by Halo. A winner last year of six of nine starts and $292,800, he capped his campaign with a repeat win in the Maryland Million Classic after dominating PA-bred stakes for older horses while toting top weight. Bred by Bernard J. Daney. OLDER MARE CAUGHT IN THE RAIN 1999, by Petionville—Jinger Feathers, by Fred Astaire. A win against state-breds in the Mrs. Penny, followed by a thrilling score in the Grade 3 Athenia Handicap at Aqueduct highlighted this mare’s championship season. She was bred by Ron Perozzi’s Casino Royale Farm, and also repeats as a divisional winner. JUMPER PARTY AIRS 1999, Geri—Elegant Champagne, by Alleged. A promising winner of two of eight starts in 2003, including the $50,000 National Steeplechase Foundation Hurdle in Maryland, he was bred by Mrs. Lewis C. Ledyard. CLAIMING HORSE MUM’S GOLD 1999, Goldlust—Mumtaj, by Tralos. Claimed for $12,500 in March, ’03, she reeled of six consecutive wins, including the Claiming Crown Glass Slipper Stakes and the Pistol Packer Handicap, to finish the year with seven wins in 11 starts, with earnings of $158,630.
